I love that His law is a light for the people. I can see how
that is true. He gives us commandments to help us know how to get where we are
trying to go. Like a lighthouse. It’s funny how we see it as restrictions
sometimes. Like a list of things we can’t do, instead of, here’s the way to be
happy.
Verse 6 is such a poetic way to say “don’t worry about
things that don’t matter.” What am I doing today? Am I worrying about eternal
things, or am I focused on the material world? What is my purpose in the
decisions I make? Am I spending my time teaching my children and serving Him?
When we are with Him in the last day sorrow and mourning
will be gone. Does that mean as we get closer to Him now the eternal
perspective we find takes those things away for us at this time? I think that’s
true; like when you hear people who go through great trials with such faith.
What do I have to be sad about? I can be happy here and now if I come to Him.
